Louisiana OTB guide
Louisiana never fully gave up on the racetrack-casino hybrid. Fair Grounds is the New Orleans winter meet people fly in for. Delta, Evangeline, and Louisiana Downs keep slots, simulcast, and seasonal live racing in the southwestern and northern parts of the state. If you want an OTB room with a gumbo smell in the hallway, this is still one of the states where that sentence makes sense.
Many Louisiana tracks are also casinos. Ask for simulcast or the race book if you are not there for the tables.
